For less of a tourist attraction spot, but still some of the best resorts, Vanua Levu has a great beach, waterfalls and coconut plantations where you can experience a true Fijian area. For this reason, Vanua Levu is called the ‘hidden paradise;.If you take a half-day trip to Wasavula, you will get to explore the ruins nearby, otherwise, relax with some hiking, diving or birdwatching and just enjoy some of the wildlife that will be surrounding you. Wildlife treks can be planned to Taveuni and arranged easily at Buca Bay.

  

You can finish exploring the rest of the island of Viti Levu for the rest of the vacation time you have. Heading west when leaving Suva along the coast, you can visit Sigatoka (a fishing town about 60 miles away that services the resorts in the area and is home to the archeological curiosities of the Sigatoka Valley). On the opposite coast from Suva, Nadi and the area surrounding it is ready to help and service tourists – including arranging treks, gold, or even a plane trip! Take a day trip and enjoy your vacation!

  

Suva is the capital of Fiji, and is on the southeastern coast of Viti Levu (the largest of the Fijian islands). Suva is usually the beginning of a tourist visit with colorful flowering gardens and palm trees surrounding. There is colonial architecture near the waterfront, the Fiji Museum which is surrounded by Thurston Gardens, and the Suva Municipal Market to start off your Fijian shopping!!

Cozumel hasn’t been trampled by tourists like the resorts in some of the other cities, and the locals are really warm and friendly-just looking to have a good time with any tourists they see. While here, try to go see:

            Museo de la Isla de Cozumel

            Chankanaab National Park to get an education on the culture and life of the island

            Parque Arqueologico de Cozumel to explore the ancient history

            Mayan ruins (including San Gervasio, Aguada Grande and El Castillo Real)

While you are here, don’t forget to do all the tourist-y things that you would at any other resort, just because its not the largest tourist attraction doesn’t mean they don’t know how to show you a good time while you are there!

  

As the biggest tourist city in Mexico, what ISN’T there to do here!? There are great beaches, snorkeling, swimming, tanning, exploration above and below the water, parasailing….everything! Cancun is a famous party spot for Spring Break, if you have been there, I’m sure it was one of the most memorable experiences ever!

If one day you can tear yourself away from the resorts and beaches, try to visit the Ruinas del Rey with a Mayan pyramid and plaza that will make your trip worth while in itself. There are also ancient Mayan ruins at Chichen Itza, Coba and Tulum.

  

The next place you should go in Mexico is Puerto Vallarta. I was once told that it is better to visit Mazatland, then Puerto Vallarta, then Cancun if you are planning more than one trip to Mexico because then the ocean and experience will get better and better every time you go. If you deviate from that order, I’ve heard that it may hinder your experience because of the cleanliness of the cities and the clarity of the oceans.

Puerto Vallarta was turned into a tourist spot when the 1964 movie “Night of the Laguna” came out. You can tan on the beach, fish or sail around, walk through the Plaza de Armas and Iglesia de Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe, and visit Miamaloya Beach near Los Arcos National Park.

When I got the chance to go to Puerto Vallarta last year, I arrived on a Wednesday which unfortunately was the day of the Bullfighting. I thought it would be a great experience to see Mexican Bullfighting (although a bit gross to see a bull die and people pay to watch that). I also saw signs for cockfighting (which would also be something new to see with a great story attached, I’m sure).

While on the resort, I swam with dolphins, rode a zip line, parasailed, walked the Boardwalk, partied on New Years 2007, and had a blast with all of the tourists. For a couple days, I went off the resort to the flee markets and bartered my way into great deals on a bunch of knock offs! I’m just waiting to be able to visit Cancun and see what it has in store!

  

Divided into sections, the center of Acapulco is called the traditional area, while Acapulco Dorado is the bay and resort area. Acapulco Diamante is to the south where the five-star hotels and resorts are. The beaches of Acapulco are what bring the tourists, but other places to visit are:

            Capilla de la Paz

            Chapel of Peace

            Zocalo

            Parque Papagayo (a huge amusement park area)

            Isla Roqueta (zoo and bottom boat ride that leaves from the beach)

  

The first place you should visit when you go to Mexico is Mexico City. Beinglargest city in Latin America, places to see include

            National Museum of Anthropology

            Alameda Park (just to take a walk)

            La Lagunilla (for shopping)

The ruins of Teotihuacan (the first major city in the Americas) will attract you to wander through the Pyramids of the Moon (Bosnian Pyramids)as shown below.

  

Take a day to visit the Ayutthaya Historical Park; it is around 60 miles North of Bangkok. It is now the UNESCO World Heritage Site, with some of the area still in ruins but several of the Buddhist temples (Wats) can be found on foot because they are so close to each other. Among the ones you should be looking for are:

            Wat Na Phra Meru

            Wat Mongkhon Bophit

            Wat Phra Si Sanphet (the largest one)

  

Phuket has been called a pearl by tourists that have previously been there, and it is also the largest and most visited of Thailand’s islands. You should visit the beaches (yay!) of Patong and Karon, then go to the core of Old Phuket and Chinatown where there is ALWAYS something to do and something new to see! The most visited Buddhist temples in Phuket are Wat Chalong and Wat Phra Thong; with the Thalang National Museum being a great store for culture and history. Sirinat National Park stretches from the airport to the island’s northern tip, so when you fly in, you can begin your journey there!
